The delay experienced by authors is basically due to the rigorous review process and occasional delay by reviewers. We would continue to push for a prompt review of manuscripts. Kindly bear with us as we handle this rate-limiting challenge. Thank you for your continued support towards the journal.

From The Desk of The Editor-in-Chief

Dear Colleagues.

It is my pleasure to present the December Edition of the West African Journal of Medicine Newsletter. What a year filled with tensions, stress and especially the challenges of COVID-19! Health workers all over the world have had to battle through the year. Thanks be to God we can see a silver lining with the advent of COVID-19 vaccines.

JOURNAL PRODUCTION

The Journal production has become more regular and consistent and we are receiving more articles now from colleagues in both West African College of Medicine and West African College of Surgeons and even from colleagues in diaspora. Currently, the journal is produced monthly and we hope to sustain this process. However, this will depend largely on the flow of manuscripts and prompt review process.

JOURNAL PACKAGE FOR THE YEAR

We have some outstanding copies of editions of the WAJM produced for this year. Individuals or institutions may subscribe for these journals. For further information about the subscription, please contact the Editor-in-chief through the email or phone numbers available.

THE WAJM WEBSITE

The website is currently undergoing an upgrade. We encourage authors to utilize the submission via email option until the process of upgrading is concluded. When the upgraded website becomes available, it will be announced.
