NOVEMBER 2020 Newsletter

From the Desk of The Editor-in-Chief

Dear Colleagues,

What a challenging year? In spite of the pandemic, lockdown and other difficulties, we have continued to move forward and fulfill our obligation of producing the journal. Currently, the last edition of the year is already in press.

I want to use this opportunity to thank all our senior colleagues, reviewers, institutions, authors and staffs for their hard work this year in helping us to produce the journal and maintaining its consistency.

DONATION

During the last exam, we sent out packages of January to September editions of the journal to physicians and surgeons to seek support and donation to enable us to continue the work. We appreciate the support of both the college of physicians and college of surgeons. We are planning to digitize the journal, though still retain the print format, so we need more funds to achieve this. Unfortunately, due to the devastating effect of the pandemic on the economy, the submission of  adverts has been low. We want to use this opportunity to thank everyone who made kind donations and to ask those who have not sent in their donations to do so before the end of the year. Also, kindly encourage your institutions to subscribe for the journal issues and we hope that the various faculties of the colleges will make it mandatory as part of the accreditation requirements.

CONGRATULATIONS

I want to congratulate all the past faculty officers for the great work they have done in the past two years and wish the incoming faculty officers a successful tenure. We look forward to an active collaboration with them throughout their tenures and we would like to encourage the faculties to make subscription for the journal a compulsory part of their accreditation requirements in order to give the journal a global impact and also to encourage the institutional heads to support the journal.

REVIEWERS

I want to immensely thank all the reviewers for their tireless and sacrificial service to the journal and especially for prompt response and review of manuscripts. As we approach the end of the year, we need to receive feedback on all manuscripts sent to reviewers on or before the first week of December because all the staff members will be going on a holiday. If there is any outstanding manuscript for review, we would be glad if they can be sent to the Editor-in-Chief as soon as possible.

JOURNAL PACKAGE FOR THE YEAR

We have outstanding editions of the journal for the year and we plan to send them to members of the colleges who are up to date in their membership dues at a subsidized fee. For details, please contact the Editor-In-Chief.
