BOOK OF ABSTRACTS FOR THE WACP 48TH (AGSM), ABUJA 2024

From The Desk of The Editor-in-Chief

Dear Colleague,

It is with great pleasure that I present the Book of Abstracts for the 48th Annual General and Scientific Meeting (AGSM) of the West African College of Physicians (WACP), held in Abuja, Nigeria. This edition reflects the vibrant intellectual exchange and research excellence that define our esteemed college.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) and the leadership of WACP for delivering an exceptional conference experience. Their remarkable dedication and meticulous planning have elevated this event's profile, solidifying its reputation as a premier platform for knowledge sharing and professional collaboration across West Africa and beyond.

This year’s AGSM provided a robust platform for engaging discussions and fostering collaborations among professionals, experts, and thought leaders from various disciplines. The Book of Abstracts encapsulates these efforts, showcasing innovative research and practical insights that embody the scientific rigor and commitment to medical excellence for which WACP is renowned.

With over 100 abstracts spanning diverse fields of medicine, this compilation highlights research efforts that make meaningful contributions to their respective disciplines. We encourage all authors to submit their full manuscripts to the West African Journal of Medicine (WAJM) for publication. This ensures that their work reaches a wide audience of healthcare professionals and stakeholders, fostering dialogue and driving further innovation in our field.

The full e-copy of the Book of Abstracts is accessible and downloadable via the journal's website at https://tinyurl.com/33bz9m7n

Authors may also connect with the college's leadership or the LOC to obtain a hard copy.

Additionally, the abstracts are available on PubMed. Simply click on the title of any abstract to navigate directly to its PubMed entry.
