WEST AFRICAN JOURNAL OF MEDICINE - MARCH 2021 NEWSLETTER

From The Desk of The Editor-in-Chief

MARCH 2021 NEWSLETTER

Dear Colleagues,

It is my pleasure to present the Journal newsletter for March 2021. I wish to appreciate our authors, reviewers and the two Colleges for the continued support in making the West African Journal of Medicine (WAJM) outstanding.

WAJM VOLUME 38, NUMBER 2, FEBRUARY 2021

The printed copies of the February edition are available at the West African Journal of Medicine (WAJM) office at 6, Taylor Drive, Edmund Crescent, Medical Compound, Yaba, Lagos State. Corresponding authors have been sent their complimentary copies by courier service (DHL). Authors and those interested in copies of this edition can request at the journal office or send an email to wajmeditorinchief@gmail.com.

2020 PUBLISHED JOURNALS

A compilation of the journals published in 2020 is available on request. Fellows should kindly encourage their various institutions to subscribe for the journals. This will enhance the accreditation rating of the institutions.

ADVERT

Advertise your brand, products and events (conferences, exhibitions and workshops) in our esteemed journal and reach out to healthcare professionals and institutions worldwide. For advert placement, kindly contact the Editor-in-Chief for details (email: wajmeditorinchief@gmail.com).

WEBSITE

The Journal website has been upgraded to make access to manuscript submission, review and publication seamless. Gradually, we are coming to a point where authors can submit and track manuscript online. The Journal can however, still be accessed through the following media.

• Facebook (https://www.faceboo.com/wajmedic)

• Twitter (https://www.twitter.com/wajmedic)

• The Blog (https://wajmeditor.blogspot.com)

UPDATES

  1. The full text of the manuscripts would soon be made available online to interested researchers who will obtain it at a fee.
  2. Furthermore, the Journal is expanding to accommodate current issues, clinical perspectives, conference and workshop reports, patient vignettes, medical and health news and short communications in various fields of medicine and surgery. We wish to encourage authors to send in articles in this category.
  3. We also wish to invite scholars to contribute to a CME column which would make the journal more functional to our junior colleagues globally.
  4. In view of the current global economic crunch which has affected the print media, we are considering increasing our fee for submission and publication. Currently, the fees paid by authors are not able to meet with the exorbitant price of the journal production. This is being reviewed upwards to about 30% and would be reflected in our journal subsequently.

WAJM VOLUME  38, NUMBER  3, MARCH, 2021

Listed below are the articles for the upcoming March 2021 Journal edition. The free abstract-text content of this edition can be assessed on PubMed Central, EMBASE, Excerpta Medica, and African Index Medicus, amongst others.
